Update 26.4.2021

Dear Colleagues,

According to the Dean’s directive No. 15/2020, the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery introduces again a partially distant learning. Clinical education encompassing presence on visits and changes of dressings, helping in operating theatres and shadowing on specialized outpatient wards takes place as usually in the Department.

Students apply for clinical education with the secretary Ms Monika Mikulášová, on phone: +420 224 434 311 always a day before (working days only) till 12:00 midday. In case of interest exceeding the capacity of the Department and/or the current regulations the first come first served policy will be used with maximal effort to satisfy all the interested. The students can also apply on e-mail: jan.klozar@fnmotol.cz for a consultation over a question or problem which they did not understand from educational materials.

All interested in clinical education have to be tested before beginning the rotation unless they got second dose of vaccine more that 2 weeks before or vent through Covid-19 in the last 3 month. Interested students with Czech general medical insurance not tested elsewhere in recent days are supposed to come to the Secretariat at 7:00 the first day of their rotation where the test at the outpatient ward of the Department will be arranged. Students without Czech medical insurance or students insured for emergencies only have to bring the current result of antigen / PCR test on arrival to the Department. The Department is unable to provide the tests for persons without Czech general medical insurance. No clinical education is possible without negative test or certificate of vaccination / endured disease.

Students have the use of lectures online on: https://moodle.lf1.cuni.cz/course/view.php?id=133

The condition to get the credit is thorough study of the published materials.

Examinations shall take place in a present form. Only in case of serious reasons (quarantine, disease, justified stay abroad) it is possible to pass the exam in a distant form.

The rules of distant examinations are published on: https://orl.lf1.cuni.cz/en/organization-of-distance-otorhinolaryngology-examinations

Newly all students before undergoing the examination have to be tested unless they got second dose of vaccine more that 2 weeks before or vent through Covid 19 in the last 3 month. Students with Czech general medical insurance not tested elsewhere in recent days are supposed to come to the Secretariat at 12:30 on the day of exam, where the test at the outpatient ward of the Department will be arranged. Students without Czech medical insurance or students insured for emergencies only have to bring the current result of antigen / PCR test on arrival to the Department. The Department is unable to provide the tests for persons without Czech general medical insurance. No examination is possible without negative test or certificate of vaccination / endured disease.

Potential changes in near future are not excluded. The pages of the Department will be updated.
